The photo on the left, of course, was our first stop. No field trip is complete without the Q and it had been almost four hours since breakfast.

The Confederate Monument in Goldsboro's Willowdale Cemetery marks the site of 800 Confederate dead. For a listing of the names click here.

Willowdale is also the site of the grave of Pvt. Jared K. White of  the 8th Texas Cavalry, Terry's Texas Rangers, "killed in the service of the C.S.A." Click here to read more about Private White.
